PROGRAM COSTS

CruiseMasters primary offering is a ten-hour Basic Skills Program, the cost of which is $640, and covers the skipper and immediate family. Additional hours added to the ten hours when needed are $65 per hour. The Basic Skills Program generally satisfies the insurance requirements for new boaters. A training and reference manual is provided with the Basic Skills Program.

In some instances, the Basic Skills Program may not be needed, such as when upgrading to a larger vessel, a need for additional handling practice, or learning how to transit the Ballard Locks. The cost for this advanced instruction is $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum. The training and reference manual is provided with three or more hours.

CruiseMasters also provides vessel delivery services throughout the Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Canadian Gulf Islands, and lower Vancouver Island areas. Please call for quotes.

A non-refundable fee of $50, applied to the total cost, is requested when registering to guarantee the booking.

There is an additional travel cost of 60¢ a mile round trip, plus expenses, for training beyond King County (but including Vashon Island). There may also be additional costs for participants who are not immediate household members, or for extra training and reference manuals.

A percent of all program fees is donated to Northwest Harvest, a non-profit statewide food bank.
